Taking short fights to nearby destinations are well…nice. Taking long flights to faraway destinations are a treat to behold. Climate changes, people talk different, dress different and the food just tastes better? Having taken a few long flights in our time, we can definitely say that it’s the journey that counts rather than the destination in this case. So, in this two-parter post, we want to look at possible things you can do to make you and your body in a much happier place. And after this, you hopefully won’t say to your pilot/stewardess –
“Are we there yet?”
Option 1: Comfy Clothes FTW!
Wear comfortable clothes onboard. You have no idea how many times i have seen people wearing suits or long dresses getting on 10 to 15 hour flights. Go with something like this – http://www.pinterest.com/explore/comfortable-outfits/ and you won’t regret it. You can always pack your stylish dress or suit in the overhead compartment so when you are reaching, simply change and you will look like a gazillion bucks.

Option 2: SHHHH!!! No Noise Please!
How many times have you wished you said that to the baby crying or the snoring adult next to you? And just like your feet need socks in the cold, so do your ears in situations such as these. You probably own a pair of earphones/headphones but the trick is to get noise-cancelling cans. Sure, they are relatively more expensive than the normal ones and they will need a recharge ever so often just like your phone but once you plug these babies in and switch on the noise cancelling button; all you will hear is sweet country music and smile to yourself while the baby cries ahead. Option 3: Dehydrate Not. Drink Up!
There is nothing worse than feeling parched on a airplane when the drinks are well… FREE! Whether, its a Coke, Tomato Juice or a wine cooler, just ask and thou shalt receive. So, no excuses on why you would feel dehydrated at the altitude you will be travelling on. Of course, toilet runs will be a must with constant drink-age but that is a small price to pay for starving of thirst.

Option 4: Let Me Entertain You!
Let us make one thing very clear. Being TV and movie addicts, we always bring our own TV series and movies on our trusty media device be it an iPad or an Android tablet. On a full battery charge, these players can go for 8 to 10 hours meaning you can get away with watching 5 movies or 1 whole season of Orange Is The New Black. So what else is a MUST for entertaining? You can either go the digital route which means loading your devices with movies, TV shows, e-books, games and more. Reading off the Kindle is a common sight. Then there is the traditional route comprising of UNO cards, playing cards, chess set, Sudoku worksheets and more. And if all else fails, just tap the shoulder of your fellow passenger and ask “So what are you doing here?”
